Parent & Player Code Of Conduct

PARENT / PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

CEGCYRA MISSION:  We are an organization committed to serving the community through recreational activities for youth.  We are dedicated to providing a safe, fun and educational atmosphere in all of our events and activities. It is our desire to bring the community together through sport and recreation. CEGCYRA partners with the local communities and school district to provide athletic opportunities allowing young players to learn and enjoy athletics in a positive and fun environment.  

Policy Overview:  In order to provide quality programs, support volunteers and ensure a positive experience for all participants, a parent/player code of conduct policy is in effect for players, parents, coaches and spectators.  
By participating in our programs, you are agreeing to abide by our code of conduct and are subject to the terms of our policy.  Please familiarize yourself with the information below.

Policy Rules:
All participants and their guests will:
  • Inform coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of the participants;
  • Be a positive role model and encourage sportsmanship by demonstrating respect, courtesy, and  positive support for all players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators at all CEGCYRA events;
  • Refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct:  (examples including but not limited to the following);
    • Physically and/or verbally harassing, taunting, booing or any other demeaning behavior
    • Refusing to shake hands after contests
    • Using profanity
    • Repeated harassment of officials during a contest
  • Avoid behaviors endangering the health or safety of any CEGCYRA event participants;
  • Teach players to abide by the rules and resolve conflicts safely without hostility or violence;
  • Demand players treat other players, managers, coaches, umpires, officials, parents and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex, religion, age, or ability;
  • Respect the officials, their decisions and their authority during games and practices and will never question, discuss, and/or confront umpires, officials, managers and/or coaches at the game field,
  • Support coaches and speak to them in a respectful and civil manner;
  • Refrain from coaching players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches;

Violations of the Policy:  Failure to abide by any of the aforementioned rules and guidelines will result in disciplinary actionthat could include, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Verbal warning by umpire, official, coach, Director, or CEGCYRA Board Member;
  • Written warning by CEGCYRA Board;
  • Immediate ejection from games, practices and any other league sponsored and/or affiliated events by official, coach, Director, or CEGCYRA Board Member;  (Failure to leave will result in a stoppage of play until the individual has left.  Failure to leave will result in authorities being called to remove the individual.)
  • Parental suspension with written documentation from CEGCYRA Board;
  • Game forfeit by umpire and/or official;
  • Parental season suspension by Board;
  • Any other action deemed appropriate by the Board.
This Code of Conduct is strictly enforceable at the sole discretion of CEGCYRA or its duly authorized representatives.
